Education as Community Service

The Pakistan Educational and Cultural Board (PECB) is a non-profit institution licensed by Dubai's Community Development Authority (CDA). For over six decades, PECB has been dedicated to providing quality, affordable education to the diverse communities of Dubai.

Our Board of Governors serve entirely without remuneration — a pro-bono commitment to community education that has been honoured with the CDA Gold Award in the Ethraa Programme for outstanding social service.

From a royal land grant to a CDA Gold Award — the milestones that shaped PECB.

1960s

Royal Land Grant

HH Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum grants land in Oud Metha to a group of patriotic Pakistanis with a vision for community education.

1968

PEA Founded

Pakistan Islamia Secondary School opens its doors — the first Pakistani community school in Dubai, serving families who needed accessible, values-driven education.

1978

ELPS Established

English Language Private School launches with the British National Curriculum, expanding the campus to serve Dubai's growing multicultural community.

2019

TIMSS Top 4

PEA scores in the top 4 school sectors in Dubai on the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study — a global benchmark of educational quality.

2020

Cambridge International Status

PEA becomes the first Pakistani school in the UAE to achieve Cambridge International status — dual-curriculum excellence recognised worldwide.

2024

CDA Gold Award

PECB receives Gold Category in the Community Development Authority's Ethraa Programme for outstanding social service and community contribution.
